COVID-19 REOPENING PROTOCOLS


My clients' health and safety is my top priority. As a massage therapist and esthetician, I have always been vigilant about the health and safety of my clients. But as a nurse with a public health background, my knowledge and training has always guided me to maintain strict CDC infectious control standards for cleaning and disinfecting. 


As I reopen, my practice follows Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA). These enhancements to my current infection control standards are made to help protect my clients and myself. As my commitment to your safety and health, here are my ongoing efforts...


MASK REQUIRED

Following state requirements, please bring a face mask to use while you are in the building and to wear during your massage. Facial services are not offered at this time since face masks must be worn by clients during sessions.


CURBSIDE CHECK IN

When you arrive at the office, I'll ask that you wait in your vehicle until I text or call you to come in. This ensures that you can go directly to the treatment room, limiting people in our waiting area.


HEALTHY HANDS

You will find touchless hand sanitizers available for you when you enter the office. You will also find touchless hand sanitizer in the treatment area and touchless soap dispenser in the bathroom. You will also have tissues/paper towels available to use as needed to touch door knobs and any other items you find necessary. 


I want to ensure you that I thoroughly wash my hands with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds) before and after each session. If I had handle any therapy tools/equipment during your session, I use the touchless hand sanitizer before I place my hands back onto your skin. 


PRE-SESSION INTAKE

I will do a health assessment at the time of confirming your appointment either by phone or email. On day of your appointment, I will greet you at the door and use a no touch thermal temperature screening to confirm that you don't have a fever. I'll ask you if you have developed any symptoms of illness since we confirmed your appointment. 


If you feel ill on the day of your session or it as been determined that there are contraindications for treatment, there is no penalty for cancelling your appointment. Treatment is not advised if you have any symptoms of illness. 


SCHEDULING

For now, the practice is operating with a schedule to allow enough time in between clients to pre-screen, properly clean and address any health and safety concerns without affecting the extra time (client came to love) to transition off the table following a treatment. This altered schedule means my availability to accommodate the usual number of clients per day/week may be limited. I appreciate your patience and understanding of availability when requesting an appointment. 


CLEANING/DISINFECTING PROTOCOLS:

After each session, I remove and replace all linens (sheets/blankets) from the massage table and headrest. These linens are cleaned with a hospital-grade disinfectant and all surfaces are disinfected with a sanitizing disposable cloth. I store my clean linens in closed cabinetry separate from linens to be cleaned.


Before handling clean linens, I thoroughly wash my hands with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds). 

I clean/disinfect objects throughout the day that are frequently handled (lotions bottles, facial products, equipment, door handles, counter tops, and cabinets with a disposable, hospital-grade disinfectant and sanitizing cloth.


At the end of the day, a thorough disinfecting process is done to the treatment room, bathroom and waiting area (including wiping down door handles, light switches, countertops, cleaning the floors/carpets and spraying fabric surfaces such as chairs and window dressings with an approved disinfectant spray)


ADDITIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES
I kindly ask clients who have recently traveled abroad, or have been in contact with someone who has traveled within two weeks, to postpone scheduling an appointment. 


Likewise, if I present with any signs or symptoms of illness I would never compromise the health and safety of my clients and would immediately cancel all appointments and close the practice. 


As the restrictions change and our COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, I will communicate with you about how services are affected and how I will continue to operate safely to meet your needs and in your best interest.
